Leading Photography and Art Experts to Offer Tips and Feedback on Photographic Portfolios at Photo Video West April 27-28

SAN DIEGO (April 9, 2013) – In addition to educational seminars and product specials, Photo Video West, the West Coast's largest educational photo and video show taking place April 27-28, 2013, will offer professional portfolio reviews by museum curators and trained photography pros to photographers interested in having their work critiqued on the spot.

"The portfolio reviews are a great value for all photographers looking to receive valuable feedback from professional reviewers that will allow them to build on the suggestions they have been given for their work," added Ken Loyst, co-producer of Photo Video West. "The portfolio review package includes a one-day pass into Photo Video West, and we encourage those who purchase the package to take advantage of product specials for new equipment or join an educational seminar while at the show."

The six reviewers, all extremely qualified and experienced in the industry, come from a wide range of backgrounds. The portfolio reviewers are as follows:

John Campbell
John Campbell Photo Arts – Carlsbad, CA
Jon Campbell has been a professional photographer in the Southern California area for over 20 years. He enjoys teaching studio and outdoor lighting classes through several venues within San Diego County each month. Jon is a member of PPA, PPC, PPSDC, and NAAP.

Sean Capshaw
Resolusean Photography
Sean Capshaw is the owner of Resolusean Photography, a San Diego-based wedding and portrait studio with clients both domestic and international. He has a long-time involvement with PPA and its local affiliates and has served on the board of the Professional Photographers of San Diego County from 2007-2012.

Luci Dumas
Luci Dumas Fine Photography
Luci Dumas specializes in award-winning imagery of children and family that clients display as art in their homes. She has operated her studio full-time for over 30 years and is a PPA Master Craftsman, former president of the PPSDC and Women in Creative Photography.

Deborah Klochko
Executive Director of MOPA
As director of the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego, California, Deborah Klochko has over 25 years of work experience in photography museums as an educator, director, and curator. Ms. Klochko has curated 30 exhibitions and is the founder of speaking of light Oral Histories of American Photographers.

Bill Thomas
Riverside Photography
Bill Thomas is a Certified Master Craftsman Photographer who began his study while serving in the US Army. Over the last 25 years, Bill has dedicated much of his time to the Professional Photographers of California and the Professional Photographers of the Inland Empire.

Michael Nadler
Michael Nadler Imaging
After working several years in photojournalism, Michael entered into the lucrative business of Photographic Retail Management. He has since become a digital imaging advisor to companies such as Apple, Adobe, Microsoft, Getty, Warner Bros., ABC/Disney, Paramount, NBC, NANPA, PPA, PPC, WPPI, Upperdeck, AAED, ADA, CDA, News Services, and many others.

Portfolio reviews are available at $59 per package and includes 3-session blocks, with each session lasting 15 minutes. Photographers have the option of scheduling their 15-minute reviews with three reviewers of their choice from 11:00 am – 4:30 pm on Saturday and 11:00 am – 3:30 pm on Sunday. Once a purchase has been made, a member of the Photo Video West team will be in touch to schedule reviewers and times. Appointments must be made in advance and may be booked at www.photovideowest.com.

Previously known as Photo Expo West, the new-and-improved Photo Video West returns with an added focus on videography, printing, framing, and mobile imaging. Part educational, part expo, attendees of Photo Video West have the opportunity to gain valuable education from the industry's top professionals, while exploring today's best brands, watching live interactive demos, and taking advantage of deals on cameras, gear and equipment.

Photo Video West takes place from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm on Saturday, April 27 and 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 28. Advance tickets for a one-day pass are $12 per person. For those who want to attend both days, weekend passes are available for $20 per person. A portion of all ticket sales will benefit the Museum of Photography Arts (MOPA) in San Diego.
